Do the bees do well in a cedar hive?
Yes, they do quite well. The cedar smell doesn't seem to affect them at all. And the cedar smell seems to cut down on the amount of Small Hive Beetles too!
Are the three designs on the home page the only designs that you produce?
No. Tell us what you need and we'll work with you to design and produce it. As a matter of fact, the Top bar/Langstroth hive was an idea that we received on a Tuesday, and we finished the first one four days later.
What designs can you engrave on the side of my hive?
We can engrave just about any black and white picture that you can find. (no gray tones). Send us a picture and we'll give you a price to have it engraved on your hive.
Will you build hives using something other than cedar?
Although cedar is our specialty, we would be happy to work with you to produce a hive from any wood that you like. Let us know what wood you would like and we will price it for you.
